We will draw with the first simple option of a muzzle of a wolf. At first we draw part of a nose, then a forehead, then a mouth, a nose, an eye, tooth and we paint over a mouth.
Further draw an ear and a neck, attract area about a nose and in the bottom of the lower tselyusta, we imitate wool, putting separate with curves in the direction of growth of wool closely to each other and layering at each other.
For this work I used paper of the A3 format and simple pencils rigidity 2T, TM, 2M, 5M.
As a referens I used this photo. The author of a photo – LoneWolfPhotography.
First of all I do a detailed sketch, planning all limits of different tones. At first hardly noticeable lines I plan a line out, then, leaning on some part of drawing as a basis for construction on which I measure all sizes (most often it is a nose as I like to begin a sketch with a nose), I carry out all sketch.
I start shading always from eyes. At first TM I plan the most dark places of an eye – a pupil and eyelids, then densely I shade them 4M. A patch of light I leave not painted over. Then more rigid pencils I draw a raduzhka. I move from a pupil to edges for more natural image.
I pass to wool. I begin with that a pencil 2T slightly I plan the direction of wool.
TM pencil short strokes I start studying wool. Near the eye I do strokes absolutely short.
To Bør 2M also I am taken place once again in dark places.
I pass to an ear. A pencil 5M I paint over the most dark sites.
2M I shade the darkened wool. At first I plan easy lines, then short I draw strands of wood.
I plan strands of wood on an ear and I paint over a dark tip.
2M I shade an ear. Here it is important not to get confused in the direction and length of strokes. I draw long locks long strokes, at first separating one and studying only it. I watch tone.
I outline a contour of an ear almost dot strokes. I draw wool short strokes.
I come back to a forehead and I study a forehead 2M, here and there adding and 4M. Then I work on wool round other eye, moving from it. That the contour looked naturally, at first rare long strokes I plan extreme strands of wood, then I add lines between them and only then I shade the remained site. I draw light wool 2T.
2T I plan length and the direction of wool on a forehead. It is quite difficult, as here difficult change of the directions. I am constantly verified with the referensy. And 2M I am taken place by TM once again. Left too light-, but we will always manage to darken.
I finish a forehead. I draw a mane 2T long strokes. Here it is especially important not to put strokes in parallel, differently wool will easily turn into an unattractive bristle.
I study the second ear. Equipment former – from dark to light.
Now turn of a nose. I shade it with short, almost dot bow-shaped shtrishka to show leather texture. Actively I use 2M and 4M. At first I pass black and almost black places, leaving lighter for later.
I trace a muzzle. Here strokes I use the very short. I plan points – the bases for moustaches. At first I pass the lower jaw since it is more dark.
I pass to whiskers. The same equipment, only strokes is much longer.
Here I change myself and I pass at first a light mane. It left is lighter, than it is necessary, but it easy to correct. I plan wool under a muzzle.
I shade a black strip of wool 2M and 4M.
I finish shoulders. I darken too light places. Work is ready.
- Never press strongly a pencil. It is better to pass an excess layer, than at once to peretemnit. To correct peretemnenny places sometimes it is very problematic.
- Never draw strands of wood in parallel, it will look unnaturally. Even at the most smoothed animal hairs will be bent and block each other. Therefore draw each separate strand of wood under a small corner to next or slightly curve an arch.
- Try to use an eraser on a minimum. From it there is a dirt because of which new strokes will look slovenly.
- Never hurry. If feel that want to finish quicker, postpone work better, differently can only spoil it.
- If something is impossible to you or starts irritating, postpone work. Later a new view you will be able to estimate mistakes and it is easy to correct them.
